is this a new thing, where authors feel like it’s okay not to wrap up their books? like: okay, i’m tired of writing here so i’m all done. the story will finish in the sequel, stop your whining and get out of my face. i’m busy making the movie deal.
seven hundred and sixty-six pages, and the book couldn’t come to a satisfying end.
and while we’re at it, what’s the deal with books that start out vastly different from the way the general run of the book goes? the first couple chapters of this book start out almost like literary sf. then it changes to action/adventure. then it goes through a long section of text carefully written for the movie. and then, at the end, the book just craps out.
any nice thing i might have had to say about this book has been ruined, utterly, by the ending. and no, i won’t be buying the sequel.
